Biography
Dr Jonathan Boyd is Senior Assistant Professor of Politics and International Relations at ISM, and joined the university in 2015. He received his PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, in 2012. Directly afterwards, he was granted a fellowship at the Centre for Global Constitutionalism (St Andrews). From 2012-2015 he was Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Reading, UK. His research interests focus on international relations theory and US foreign policy. His research has been published in international peer-reviewed academic journals, including History of Political Thought and Hobbes Studies. Dr Boyd regularly presents his research findings at the annual International Studies Association and British International Studies Association annual conferences. He actively participates in academic service internationally. He is a reviewer for top journals including Millennium and International Studies Review. He has examined a number of PhD’s at UK universities, and has served on several teaching and learning committees. Dr Boyd is an experienced commentator on international affairs, and has published articles in Lithuanian media outlets including Verslo Klase, Verslo Zinios and IQ. He is frequently interviewed by Lithuanian press, and has appeared in Delfi, LRT Radio, and Verslo Zinios. He has also been an invited speaker to officials of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. He has taught in American (University of Connecticut, University of New Haven and George Mason University), Canadian (University of Western Ontario) and British universities (University of St Andrews, University of Stirling and University of Reading), and has supervised BA and MA theses, in the fields of International Relations, Security Studies, Political Science, Macroeconomics, Philosophy and Research Methods.
