Biography

Mr. John R. Barr has been the Chief Executive Officer of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals Inc. since October 9, 2014. Mr. Barr has over 35 years of medical device and operational leadership experience. Mr. Barr served as Global President of Surgical Business at Bausch & Lomb Incorporated since May 14, 2012. Mr. Barr served as Executive Vice President and President of Global Surgical Business at Bausch & Lomb Holdings Incorporated since May 14, 2012. Immediately prior to joining Bausch + Lomb, Mr. Barr served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of AGA Medical Holdings, Inc., since June 2008. Mr. Barr served as Chief Executive Officer of AGA Medical Corporation from 2008 to 2011 and its President from 2008 to 2010. He served as Chief Operating Officer of AGA Medical Corporation since September 2005. He served as President of Panacos Pharmaceuticals (formerly known as VI Technologies, Inc.) from March 2005 to June 30, 2005. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Panacos Pharmaceuticals from November 1997 to November 2004 and served as its Acting Principal Financial Officer. Previously, he served as President of Panacos Pharmaceuticals since November 1997. He served as the President of North American Operations at Haemonetics Corp. from June 1995 to November 1997, where he had responsibility for Haemonetics' blood bank, commercial plasma and blood bank services businesses.
