Biography

In his role as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dr. Goldberg leads PAREXEL’s global management team to capitalize on the strong market opportunity for global biopharmaceutical services. His remit includes P&L responsibility for all of the Company’s business units, which total approximately $2 billion in revenue per annum.  In addition, Dr. Goldberg focuses on further strengthening client relationships, as well as leveraging PAREXEL’s leadership role in the convergence of services and technology in support of clinical research. Dr. Goldberg has been an asset to PAREXEL’s executive management team for more than 19 years, applying his combined business, medical, technical, and clinical research expertise. During this time, Dr. Goldberg has held roles of increasing responsibility. He previously served as President of Clinical Research Services and Perceptive Informatics (now PAREXEL Informatics), and continues to oversee these areas of the Company.  Dr. Goldberg has led strong growth while driving profitability in the Clinical Research Services business, PAREXEL’s largest business segment.  He has helped build PAREXEL Informatics into a leading provider of advanced technologies that facilitate the clinical development process. He has also overseen the geographic expansion of PAREXEL’s clinical development capabilities, including the extension of capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region through both acquisitions and organic growth. In 2012, Dr. Goldberg received the Special Recognition Award from the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research for advancing clinical research through a combination of medical knowledge, development expertise, and information technology.  In 2011, he was recognized by The Week magazine in its list of the world’s top emerging business leaders. Dr. Goldberg joined PAREXEL in 1997, establishing the Company’s Medical Imaging Group to use imaging data as a surrogate end point, or biomarker, in evaluating the safety and efficacy of new products. In 2000, he was involved in establishing Perceptive Informatics to deliver advanced technology solutions that improve the development and commercialization processes for the biopharmaceutical industry. Today, PAREXEL Informatics is a leading provider of eClinical solutions, helping customers accelerate drug development. Prior to joining PAREXEL, Dr. Goldberg served as President and Director of WorldCare, Inc., a telehealth spin-off from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) that he helped found.  Dr. Goldberg holds a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), and an M.D. from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
