Biography
Since 1990 Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, VU, from 2012 - Professor, head of the Center for Pediatric Psychiatry and Social Pediatrics of Vilnius University Psychiatry Clinic. Since 1991 He works at the Child Development Center of Vilnius University Children's Hospital. 1994-1999 was the director of this center in 2000-2010. - Head of Child Development Center Clinic, since 2010 consultant. 2007-2009 Scientific director of the European Union Public Health Program "Mental health for children and adolescents in an enlarged EU: Creating Effective Policies and Practices (CAMHEE)". He graduated from the University of Marburg (Germany) and the London Psychiatric Institute (UK). 2007-2011 was a member of the United Nations Children's Rights Committee. 1988 He defended his doctoral dissertation "Medium and severe mental retardation in the Vilnius children's population". Member of the Lithuanian Psychiatric Association and former President (1990-1992), Member of the Board of the Lithuanian Children and Adolescent Psychiatrists Society, Chairman of the Board of the "Global Initiatives in Psychiatry", Chairman of the Board of the Human Rights Monitoring Institute. She has lectured at international conferences in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Georgia, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Romania, Finland, Rome, Vilnius and Kaunas. 60 scientific publications, 4 sections in international publications, 1 author and co-author of the textbook. He teaches and conducts seminars for specialists in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia for mental health, mental health, support for children with disabilities, children's rights, health policy and other issues, participating in international projects. Prepared and delivered lecture courses "Children and adolescent psychiatry" for students of the Faculty of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine, lectures on "Public Mental Health" at VU Faculty of Medicine and VU TSPMI students, are actively involved in the training of physicians and resident doctor training programs.
