Biography
1982 He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University with a pediatric specialty. Since 1993 studied at the Vilnius University doctoral program and in 1998. He defended his biomedical doctoral dissertation "Celiac Complex Diagnostics". Stage: Double Stockholm Goran Hospital in Sweden, Tampere University Hospital in Finland, Chicago Layol University Hospital in the USA, Umea University Hospital in Sweden, Graz University Hospital in Austria, University of Oxford, J. Radcliff Hospital in England, Odense University Hospital in Denmark, Warsaw Maternity and Childhood Institute in Poland. He trained at the Salzburg Medical Seminars in Austria twice, took part in the development of the European Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Society in Vilnius and Riga. 1988 was awarded the third prize at the Lithuanian Gastroenterologists' Conference with the participation of the Union Gastroenterologists Scientific Society. 1995 awarded the First Prize of the Vilnius Medical Society and in 2011 honorary writing for the scientific works implemented in practice. He has published 175 scientific publications in international and Lithuanian scientific journals, co-author of textbooks on "Children's diseases" and "Family Doctor's Guide". Translated the publication "Pediatric gastroenterology", read through 200 reports at various Lithuanian and international scientific conferences. The award was given to the World Congress of Pediatric Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists and Nutrition Officers (Boston, USA, 2000) and the European Week of Gastroenterology (UEGW) (Geneva, Switzerland, 2002). 2004 The Ministry of Education of Lithuania presented an honorary note for the textbook "Children's Disease" (for the authors' collective). Since 2008 Participating in the organization of the UEGW (European Joint Gastroenterology Week) and the annual conferences of the EUPGHAN (European Children's Gastroenterology and Nutrition Society), is a member of the thesis assessment. From 2015 participates in four international scientific projects. Member of the Lithuanian Children's Gastroenterology and Nutrition Society, Member of the European Children's Gastroenterologists and Nutrition Society, Member of the Board of the Lithuanian Pediatric Society, Member of the Board of the Lithuanian Enterocolleted and Parenteral Nutrition Society, Consultant to the Children's Gastroenterology, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania. Member of editorial colleges of scientific journals ("Pediatrics", "Gastroenterology, Hepatology"). Awarded the January 13th Medal of Remembrance.

Scientific areas of interest: Gastrointestinal diseases in children and child nutrition (celiac disease, malabsorption syndrome, food allergy, gastroesophageal reflux disease, functional gastrointestinal disease, liver disease, liver transplantation, nutrition of healthy and ill children, probiotics and prebiotics).
