Research Interest
The main field of scientific interests is integration of optimization and data analysis in the context of modern technological solutions. The research covers the following main areas: creation and application of non-traditional knowledge about the optimization task isolation methods in order to improve optimization efficiency; Optimal solutions are made when analyzing complex data structures stored in computer databases; visual multidimensional data analysis. Recently, much attention has been paid to data analysis (in particular medical data - ophthalmic, cardiologic, genetic), parallel calculations, multi-criteria decision-making strategies, multidimensional data visualization and artificial neural networks. The Scientific School for Visual Data Analysis in Lithuania was created. 12 doctoral students defended their doctoral dissertations, while 7 additional dissertations were defended under the guidance of students and former doctoral students. Most of them now work for academic work.
