Nancy De Bremaeker

Biography

Dr. Nancy De Bremaeker is Clinical Research Coordinator at the LIH Clinical & Epidemiological Investigation Center (CIEC) and European Correspondent for the European Clinical Research Infrastructures Network (ECRIN). After a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL) in Belgium, she joined GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Belgium where she acquired, during her 7 years as a Clinical Research Associate, experience in all stages of Phase I, II, III and IV clinical studies in various therapeutic areas such as cardiology, urology, pulmonology, antibiotics, vaccines, metabolism and central nervous system. In 2007, she joined the Luxembourg Anti-Doping Agency (ALAD) as responsible for the training of anti-doping agents and the planning of the anti-doping controls in Luxembourg. She also set up the quality management system and successfully obtained ISO9001 certification for the Agency. She joined the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) in October 2010 as a Clinical Research Associate and in May 2012 as Clinical Research Coordinator and European correspondent ECRIN for Belgium and Luxembourg. In April 2014, she accepted the role of Vice-President of the National Research Ethics Committee Luxembourg (CNER) for 2 years. Currently, she manages the regulatory and ethical submissions of clinical trials in Luxembourg and Belgium in various therapeutic areas, including pediatrics, rare diseases, cardiology and neurology. She coordinates the activities of the monitors and is responsible for the overall management of the projects at the country level. As European correspondent for the academic network of clinical trials (ECRIN), she also provides advice in the fields of regulatory, ethics and logistics to European investigators wishing to extend their academic clinical trial in Luxembourg or Belgium.
