Biography
Dr. Rikabi has three years experience in teaching in the family nurse practitioner program with a focus on collaborative instructions. She also teaches joint injections. She has over 9 years’ experience as a family nurse practitioner with a focus on occupational medicine, HIV, women’s health, and orthopedic. She completed a doctoral degree in 2013, with a research focus on patient-centered care. Dr. Rikabi is currently an assistant professor at University of Southern Mississippi. She published articles on asymptomatic bacteriuria, dyslipidemia, and ethical issues in homeless people. She chaired and co-chaired the planning committee for four years for the Transcultural Nursing Society chapter Alabama-Mississippi-Louisiana. She serves on many academic committees, and as peer journals reviewer. Her research experience includes HIV, Dyslipidemia, and healthcare professionals practice with multicultural patients.
Research Interest
To improve nurse practitioner students’ knowledge on caring for patients with multicultural background. The goal is to promote patient-centered care by teaching graduate nursing students cultural competency skills
