Biography

Research Interest

Miles D. White is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Abbott, a global healthcare company with a leading portfolio of products and technologies in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic pharmaceuticals, operating in more than 150 countries. Mr. White joined Abbott in 1984, was elected to the board of directors in 1998, and became CEO and chairman of the board in 1999. In addition to his responsibilities at Abbott, Mr. White serves on the board of Caterpillar Inc., and McDonald’s Corporation. He is a member of the board of trustees of Northwestern University, and on the board of the US-China Business Council. He is a member of the Business Council, and was formerly Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
