Biography
Helen Elizabeth Olsen is a Project Officer on GBD working with the Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (MNCH) Team. Prior to joining IHME, Helen was a NSF Graduate Research Fellow at Rutgers University, where she conducted field research in East Africa on women's reproductive health and worked on a Fulbright-funded project examining the long-term health consequences of alluvial gold mining in rural Ghana. A native of Seattle, Helen did her undergraduate work at the University of Washington where she worked as a Research Assistant on the Relational Poverty Network's Middle Class Poverty Project.
