Biography
Ong is an accomplished scientist, with experience in multiple advanced fields, including cell and molecular biology, genetics, genomics, diagnostics and drug development. Since 1995, she has been conducting pioneering research in academic and industry settings at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in A*STAR (Singapore); New York University Medical Centre (USA); Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto (Canada) and Eli Lilly and Co. (USA & Singapore). In 2010, Dr. Ong founded the medical technology firm Acumen Research Labs, which is developing and commercializing new-generation Sepsis diagnostic tests. Since 2004, Dr. Ong has been an adjunct faculty member at the National University of Singapore, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
