Biography
Dr. Kodiswaran is a plant biotechnologist with over 30 years of experience in the field of plant science, especially in plant tissue culture, plant pathology, genetic engineering, horticulture, agriculture, and laboratory & greenhouse management (including GMO containment greenhouses). Currently, he is the Senior Vice President (for Agriculture Biotechnology) at the Business Development & Investment Division, Bioeconomy Corporation, a position he has held for the last 2½ years. Prior to that he was the Vice President under the same division, at the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation, since 2010. Dr. Kodiswaran also had served as a Senior Scientist and the head of the Tissue Culture Laboratory at FRIM (Forest Research Institute Malaysia) for over 8-years. He was previously the R&D Manager for TropBio Research Sdn. Bhd. (a private biotechnology company in Malaysia). Prior to his return to Malaysia, he had served as a course tutor (teaching “Plant tissue culture and its uses in micropropagation and plant biotechnologyâ€) at the University of London (Wye College), for over 6-years. Kodiswaran had completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of East London, working on a MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, UK) project on English Garden Roses.
