Lucian Boldea

Biography

Dr. Lucian Boldea is Senior Vice President of Additives & Functional Products for Eastman Chemical Company. Boldea has global responsibility for strategy, business operations, and financial performance. Prior to this position, he was Group Vice President & General Manager of Additives & Functional Products. Boldea is a native of Romania. He holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of West Florida, a Doctor of Philosophy degree in organic chemistry from the University of Florida, and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. Boldea joined Eastman in 1997 as a chemist. During his career at Eastman, he has held various positions in research and development, licensing, business management, and corporate growth platforms leadership. These positions included Technology Director for Performance Chemicals and Intermediates (PCI) and Director of Corporate Growth Platforms. During his career, Boldea has been actively involved with Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA); Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association (DCAT); and, American Chemistry Council (ACC). He is also an active member of the Wharton Alumni Association. Boldea and his wife reside in Kingsport, Tennessee, with their two younger sons; their oldest attends college in Berkeley, California. During his 20 years in Kingsport, he has been involved in a variety of volunteer activities, including Friends in Need, Big Brother/Big Sisters of Tri-Cities, and the Kingsport City School system. Boldea has served as a member of the St. Dominic Catholic School Board, and he enjoys volunteer teaching in the community schools. Other personal interests include traveling, snow and water sports.
