Ler Cheng Chye

Biography

Dr. Ler Cheng Chye K.M.N - Dr Ler is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), and a fellow member of Malaysian Institute of Taxation (MIT). In November 2002, Dr Ler obtained a Ph.D in Entrepreneurship from the American World University, a globally accredited university by UNESCO. Earlier in his career, he articled with the international accounting firm of Price Waterhouse, Kuala Lumpur. On obtaining the MICPA certificate, he was selected to assist in the setting up of the receivership department for Price Waterhouse, Kuala Lumpur. He stayed with the Price Waterhouse Receivership Department for 2 years before setting up his own practice. Dr Ler has over 29 years of working experience in various fields of professional services including those on auditing, taxation, receivership and insolvency, management and consultancy. Dr Ler is currently the Senior Partner of Ler Lum & Co., Chartered Accountants, and the Executive Chairman of Revenue Merchant Consultants Sdn. Bhd. He is also the co-author of Leasing in Malaysia - A Practical Approach and Manufacturing Industry in Malaysia - A Practical Approach - General and Regulations. He was the Honorary Secretary General of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Malaysia (1994-1998) and Honorary Treasurer of EON Dealer Association of Malaysia (EDAM), a national car dealers association. On the occasion of the official birthday of His Majesty, the King, Yang Di-Pertuan Agong in June 1998, Dr Ler was comferred the Federal Honours of Kesatria Mangku Negara (K.M.N.)
