Biography
Dr Loh graduated from Taipei Medical University, Taiwan in 1983. He attained his Master in Surgery (Ophthalmology) University Malaya in 1996. He further obtained Master in Medicine (Ophthalmology) National University of Singapore and Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons (Ophthalmology) Edinburgh,UK in 1998. An experienced ophthalmologist for more than 15 years, Dr Loh has had a long and illustrious career in the government service, having served as the Head of Ophthalmology Department of Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru and State Ophthalmologist for Johor until his retirement. Dr Loh's specialty is in the field of comprehensive ophthalmology and he is actively involved in community service for blindness prevention. He attended the prestigious Prevention of Blindness course co-sponsored by WHO- Lions International- Ministry of Public Health at Korat,Thailand in 2000. Even after his retirement, he is still involved in NGO sponsored prevention of blindness programmes and cataract camps. Dr Loh is an experienced educator and has mentored many ophthalmologists during his tenure in the government service. He was appointed as honorarium lecturer from local universities for both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Currently, he is the medical director of Indah Specialist Eye Centre.
