Biography
Mahaletchumy joined MABIC in Jan 2003 as a Project Officer and later took over as the Executive Director in May 2005. Equipped with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry, a Masters in Biotechnology, and PhD in Science Communication, Maha transformed MABIC into a household name among local and international biotechnology community. Her passion to bring biotechnology closer to the society and engaging them as a partner in the development of this industry has seen a number of innovative approaches in public understanding of biotechnology. Her close links with government agencies, universities and the industry is an asset to MABIC.
