Dato’ Mohd. Rafik Bin Shah Mohamad

Biography

  Independent, Non-Executive Director Member of the Audit Committee Chairman of the Compensation Committee Malaysian, 66 years of age Dato’ Mohd. Rafik Bin Shah Mohamad has been a director of the Company since 1st June 2007. He was initially appointed as a Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director and was later re-designated as an Independent, Non-Executive Director on 7th August 2008. He is a member of the Audit Committee and the Chairman of the Compensation Committee. Dato’ commenced his career in 1973 as an Analyst with Esso Malaysia Berhad. In 1981, he joined the Company and retired in 2006 after 25 years of service. During his time he held various significant management positions within the Nestlé group of companies both locally and overseas. Dato’ was previously an Independent, Non-Executive Director at Handal Resources Bhd. and also a director of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Sdn. Bhd. Currently, Dato’ is the Chairman of the Malaysian AgriFood Corp. Berhad, Cold Chain Network Sdn. Bhd. (a subsidiary of Malaysian AgriFood Corp. Berhad), and Biotropics Malaysia Berhad. He is also a Director of AgriFood Resources Holdings Sdn. Bhd., Sanicare Hygiene Services Sdn. Bhd. Biotropics Malaysia Berhad wholly owns Phytes Biotek Sdn. Bhd., which is one of the current suppliers of raw materials to a subsidiary of the Company. Be that as it may, Phytes Biotek Sdn. Bhd. carries on business with the subsidiary of the Company on the same terms as other suppliers. Dato’ is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom. He has also attended the Executive Development Programme at the International Institute for Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland.
