Jacqueline Judith Ho

Biography

"Jacqueline (Jackie) is a New Zealander resident in Malaysia for more than 30 years. Before going into Medical Education she worked in the Malaysian Ministry of Heath. Hence she is very familiar with Malaysian Health Care and indeed has contributed to the development of Paediatric and Neonatal Services in Malaysia. She is the Coordinator of the recently established Malaysian Cochrane Network. She is also a Trainer in Cochrane Systematic Review methods and hence trains and mentors local Cochrane Review authors. Jackie is active in both the Malaysian Paediatric Association and Perinatal Socity of Malaysia and over the years has taken on a number of roles in these Professional bodies. She currently sits on the National Specialist Register Neonatal Committee. She is also on a number of committees within the Ministry of Health. Jackie has always enjoyed teaching. She is heavily involved in Undergraduate Education but also teaches Paediatric Trainees as well as Neonatal Fellows. Besides teaching, Jackie has a keen interest in medical education research and endeavours to use research findings to drive the teaching and learning methods used in the Paediatric Department her at PMC. She has also served as a Technical Advisor to WHO Reproductive Health and she is an editor for PLoS One, a leading open access medical journal."

Research Interest

Jackie’s has two main research areas. Firstly she is interested in generating high-level research evidence and as such is the author of a number of Cochrane Systematic Reviews.  Secondly, she is interested in how to get this research into clinical practice and policy. She is currently a co-investigator in the SEA URCHIN project; a project investigating the impact of using high-level research evidence to reduce hospital acquired neo-natal infection.
