Biography
Datuk Dr Sharifuddin Wahab joined Schmidt in 1989. Dr Sharifuddin Bin Abdul Wahab graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan in 1981. He pursued his postgraduate studies and obtained his Masters Degree in Science from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia in 1983. He also holds a certificate in RIA techniques from Cornell University, United States of America.
Research Interest
He began his career in the education field as a lecturer in Universiti Pertanian Malaysia in 1982. In his academic career, he has also been active in research, developing new technologies that could be simplified for practical handling in the field. He has been awarded research grants from the IAEA Vienna, CSIRO Australia and later appointed as expert for Africa and South East Asia by the IAEA. In 1989, he joined Schmidt Scientific Sdn Bhd and successfully restructured the Biomedical business in Malaysia. He was appointed the Executive Director of Schmidt Vietnam Co Ltd. from 1995- 1998. He was promoted to the position of Regional Managing Director, Schmidt South East Asia from 1999 – 2000 and was Chief Executive Officer of Schmidt BioMedTech Asia Ltd. until February 2007. He also holds directorships in several private limited companies.
