Biography
Per Dalin joined Schmidt in 2008 and is currently Regional Director of Schmidt Vietnam JSC. He graduated from Leksands Gymnasium in 1974 with a degree in electrical engineering and with a further accreditation as an Electrical Installations Inspector at the end of 1978 from the Swedish Energy Authorities. In between Per served with the Swedish Special Forces and in the United nations Emergency Force in the Middle East. Per arrived the first time to Vietnam in early 1979, working for an engineering company planning to stay for one year followed by assignments to Liberia and Sri Lanka. He returned a second time to Vietnam in late 1982 employed by Hifab International, a management consultancy company and remained in Vietnam until 1988. He made a break from Vietnam by joining Stena Offshore Ltd. to be based in Singapore for the next three years as Electric / Electronics officer in their fleet of Dynamic Positioning vessels, conducting operations off Australia, Africa, Southeast Asia and in the Persian Gulf until he returned to Vietnam for the third time, once again for Hifab International, who he left to establish Schmidt as of 01 January 1992. Per Dalin was assigned by the late Mr. Guenther Buchholtz to establish Schmidt Vietnam in 1992. Per was the Country Director for the company since then and until end of 2001 when he left the Schmidt to return to Sweden due to personal reasons. Per re-joined Schmidt in April 2008.
