Biography
Ulrich Buchholtz has worked within the Schmidt Group of Companies since 1986: 2 years as Division Manager with Schmidt Scientific Taiwan Ltd., 4 years as Chairman and Managing Director of Schmidt Scientific Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia and Regional Managing Director South East Asia, and since 1992 onwards at the Schmidt Group Headquarters first as Group CEO and then as Group Chairman. Ulrich is also heavily involved in community work at the German Swiss International School (GSIS) in Hong Kong. Since 1995 Ulrich has been a member of the GSIS Board, since 2000 the Supervisor and as of 2003 the Chairman of the Boards. He is also is one of the International Advisors of the Advisory Board of the YK Pao School in Shanghai. Since 2009, Ulrich is also a specially invited council member of the Association of Former Diplomats of China (AFDC). A German national, born in Hong Kong and a long term resident, Ulrich studied Industrial Engineering (Business Administration & Electronics) at the University TH Darmstadt, Germany.
