Biography

 David A. Smith, Chairman & CEO,  joined Freedom Innovations in 2016.  Previously, he was General Partner with Health Evolution Partners, LLC  where he led a turnaround and sale or disposition of several healthcare providers and service portfolio companies.  Smith previously held the position of Chairman and CEO of PSS World Medical, Inc., a high growth medical distributor with over $2 billion in revenue.  His leadership is best exemplified by PSSI 1,000% stock appreciation during his tenure.  He successfully led the organization through a dynamic shift in business strategies, which produced $1.1 billion in market value, over $100 million of EBITDA, revenue growth at two times market, and record customer satisfaction. Mr. Smith served his community as Chairman of Florida TaxWatch Inc., where he assisted bringing the State of Florida to a complete recovery of the global recession by leading a bi-partisan governmental and business Task Force that identified opportunities to save Florida $3.2 and $4.5 billion heralded by Governor Rick Scott as his platform of action.  Smith started his career as a CPA with the State of Florida and Price Waterhouse Coopers.  Smith graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Business Administration.  For over 10 years, Smith served as guest lecturer at Columbia School of Business, MBA program.  He serves on several industry and community boards, with a presence across national, state and local communities.
