Biography
Alex Leow is Associate Professor of the Department of Medicine at the University of Malaya and Consultant physician, Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in University of Malaya Medical Centre and University of Malaya Specialist Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He obtained his basic degree in Biomedical Science in 1999 at University of Malaya before furthering his study in Medicine in University College Dublin/Penang Medical College. He graduated in 2004 and was awarded the Penang Medical Practitioner’s Society Best All Round Student Award. He obtained his Master Degree in Internal Medicine and was awarded the John Bosco Best Master Student Award upon graduation in 2012. His areas of interest are diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, Helicobacter pylori, viral hepatitis B and C, hepatocellular carcinoma and has authored and co-authored in numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented in both local and international conferences.
