Biography
Hasniza Zaman Huri obtained her PhD (Clinical Pharmacy, Human Genomics & Pharmacogenomics) and Master in Clinical Pharmacy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and B. Pharm (Honours) from University of Malaya. She is currently an Associate Professor in Clinical Pharmacy and she lectures the clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical biotechnology and good clinical practice modules. Her research areas cover optimal management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, insulin resistant study (HOMA models), erectile dysfunction, drug related problems and pharmaceutical care issues, biomarkers, pharmacogenomics-pharmacodynamics (single nucleotide polymorphisms using PCR/RFLP and Taqman methods, haplotype analysis, gene interaction study) and gene-disease-drug response modelling. Her research interests also include general endocrinology, urology and obstetrics & gynecology disorders. She has published more than 50 papers in peer reviewed journals related to optimal management, drug-related problems and gene polymorphisms in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. At present, she is also the Director of Clinical Investigation Centre (CIC), University Malaya Medical Centre - a reputable and multi-winning clinical trial centre in the Asian region.
