Biography
Dr. Ismail bin Yusuff graduated from the University of Malaya in August 1994 with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Applied Geology and then attended the University of East Anglia at Norwich in the United Kingdom where he was awarded the M.Sc. degree in Hydrogeology in July 1997. He continued his research work at the University of East Anglia and was awarded the Ph.D. degree in Hydrogeology in January 2001. Dr. Ismail bin Yusuff was appointed lecturer at the Department of Geology in August 2000 and has taught several under-graduate courses as well as supervised some under-graduate students in their final year research projects. He has now fifteen years of formal teaching experience in various aspects of general geology as well as courses related to his field of specialization in hydrogeology. Dr. Ismail has supervised some more then thirty undergraduates. He had graduated six PhD and five master students. He is presently a main supervisor to three master students and six PhD students. He is one of the reviewers for few locals and international journals. Dr. Ismail bin Yusuff has a strong interest in research. Results of these projects have been presented at local Seminars and Conferences and also published in local Journals. He was appointed to Associate Professor in 2007 and Professor in 2015. Dr. Ismail bin Yusoff is an active member of the Geological Society of Malaysia and has served on several committees, including being Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 2002 Annual Geological Conference at Kota Baharu. He has also been involved in some consultancy projects.
