Biography
Dr Koh Peng Soon graduated in 2002 with MBBS from the International Medical University. He first gained experience in Surgery working as a medical officer in the Department of Surgery, Hospital Taiping right after internship where he obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCSEd), UK in 2005. He joined University of Malaya in 2006 for postgraduate training and graduated with Masters of Surgery (MSurg) in 2010. He worked as a General Surgeon in Hospital Sungai Buloh after graduation before rejoining University of Malaya as a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Specialist in 2011 for sub-specialty training and his interest in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery. In October 2013 to September 2014, he spent a year as a Fellow and Honorary Clinical Associate at the Division of Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplantation, Queen Mary Hospital, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong which is world renowned. Besides clinical duties, he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and already has several publications to his name. He is currently working as a Consultant Surgeon in the Department of Surgery, University of Malaya Medical Centre.
