Biography

Dr. S. Kumaran (Kumaran Suberamanian, Kumaran, S, Suberamanian Kumaran, K. Suberamanian), the Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya has authored more than 100 research papers and more than 60 books in English, Malay and Tamil, His research papers were publIshed in ISI and SCORPUS indexed journals, popular academic journals and as chapters in books. His specialization is Sosial Media networking, Tamil Language, Tamil Classical Literature, Indian Civilization, Comparative Study of Japanese Manyoshu Songs and Tamil Classical Literature, Tamil cultural studies, Tamil journalisme and Tamil - Malay - English Dictionary. He has attended and presented many research papers in national and International Conferences, Seminars, Symposiums and Workshops at various universities and colleges nationaly in Malaysia and internationaly in India, Pondicherry, Tokyo (Japan), Montreal (Canada), London (United Kingdom), Singapore, Dhaka (Bangladesh), Jaffna, Kendy, Colombo (Sri Lanka), Durban (South Africa), Ankara (Turkey), Manila (Philipines), Taipei (Taiwan), Yogyakarta, Bali (Indonesia), Daejoen (Korea), Yangoon (Myanmar), Abu Dhabi (AUE). He was a Research Fellow in the University of Jaffna (Sri Lanka) from April to September 2003. He is also an Associate Fellow at Centre for Civilizational Dialogue, University of Malaya apointed by Vice Chancellor of University of Malaya. He was the Head, Department of Indian Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya from 2006 to 2013. He has completed High Impact Research (HIR) project of Ministry of Educatioan, Malaysia (2014). He has engaged with a project of University of Malaya Research Grant (UMRG) in Sosial Media networking (2016 - 2018). He has supervised more than 10 Phd. Candidates and  20 MA. candidates including international candidates from Iran, and Bangladesh.
