Biography
Rizal is a consultant at the University Malaya Consutancy Unit, and also administrative member at the Faculty of Built Environment, University Malaya. He has been involved in teaching, programme development, research and consultancy projects for more than 10 years. He was appointed as coordinator for Master Degree in Facilities Management and Maintenance programme since September 2012; accredited programme offered by the university since 2012/13. He is also a professional member of International Facility Management Association, and Malaysian Association of Facility Management. He received his Master of Science in Facilities Management and Asset Maintenance form Heriot-Watt Uni, Edinburgh; and a doctoral degree from the Liverpool John Moores University, UK. His doctoral research draws on the development of recycling performance framework for the UK retail centres operation. The study was granted by the University of Malaya - Liverpool John Moores University bursary scheme, 2008-2011. Now he also serves as external advisory roles for the Royal Malaysian Navy of MinDef; Facility Management programmes both at the Malaysian Polytechnic, Ministry of Higher Education; and Open University Malaysia. Current research and development projects focuses on FM innovations with emphasis on knowledge-transfer, risk, performance and sustainability derived from client strategic-governance.
