Biography
Dr. Muhammad Fazril Razif became a member of the Department in March 2014. He completed his undergraduate education at Murdoch University (Perth, Western Australia) in 2007 with a double degree: BSc (Biomedical Science/Molecular Biology) and BSc in Forensic Biology and Toxicology (Minor in Criminology). He subsequently embarked on a one year research degree where he graduated with first class Honours with his thesis entitled “Association between Polymorphisms 3’ of ApoE and Susceptibility to Schizophrenia and its Subtypes”. In 2009, Dr. Fazril joined the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, in collaboration with the University of Western Australia to undertake his PhD research. After four years of research, he received his PhD from the School of Medicine and Pharmacology with his project entitled “RNA-binding Proteins: Unraveling the code”. Dr. Fazril was short listed as a State-finalist for the AusBiotech-GSK Student Excellence Awards (2011) for the project he worked on during his PhD.
