Dr. Su Moon Ting
Department Of Software Engineering
University of Malaya
He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Software Engineering at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. I hold the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) and Master of Science (Computer Science) from University Putra Malaysia, and Ph.D. (Computer Science) from University of Auckland. I strongly believe that “while we teach, we learn” (Roman philosopher Seneca). I like sharing knowledge and learning with my students. I have been teaching programming and Software Engineering courses. I received Best Lecturer Award in Semester 1 Session 2004/2005, from my faculty. I was a recipient of Excellence Service Award 2007, awarded by University of Malaya. Prior to joining the education sector, I was an analyst programmer. I am curious about how stakeholders search for information in software documentation and how to provide support for better information searching. My Ph.D. was on “Supporting Information Searching in Software Architecture Documents”, where I investigated how architecture information chunking/grouping based on stakeholders’ usage of the documents can be done and how usage-based chunks support information searching. I also studied information foraging behaviour of the stakeholders of these documents. My other research interests are architecture knowledge, e-Learning, web services, microservices, virtual reality for Internet, Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) Tools (Syntax-Directed Programming Editor/programming environment), end-user programming, reusable requirements, Object-Oriented software systems and Cloud computing.
