John Tierney

Biography

As President, North America, John Tierney is responsible for overseeing all Welch Allyn commercial business activities throughout the U.S. and Canada. This includes P&L responsibility for the North American business as well as functional management for Acute Care Sales, Ambulatory Care Sales, Sales & Commercial Operations, Sales Enablement, Regional Marketing, Channel Management and Business Intelligence. Tierney has held numerous sales and sales management related leadership roles throughout his 25 year career at Welch Allyn beginning as a sales representative in 1990. He has built his career through a variety of leadership positions in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. In 2011, John was promoted to his current assignment leading Welch Allyn’s largest business. John holds a bachelor’s degree from The College of St. Thomas in accounting and completed his Executive Education in Management Development in the Business School at the University of Michigan in 2002. John has served on the Board of Directors for the Health Industry Distributor Association (HIDA) Educational Foundation and Healthcare Manufacturers Management Council (HMMC). He is active in the Skaneateles, N.Y. community where John and his wife Carolyn have raised their three daughters.
