Mark - Samreen

Biography

Mark spent 7 years at Bain and Company, London, before his appointment to lead assignments for large European companies in the FMCG, financial services, telecoms and industrial sectors. In 1996, with the backing of leading US private equity firm, Bain Capital, Mark co-founded the private equity partnership, SB Capital Partners and set about working on buy-out transactions. He returned to London in 1997 to set up and build out the investment sourcing and evaluation network across Europe. On the back of this success Bain Capital launched its first dedicated European buy-out fund. During this time Mark assisted one of the partners (Norwegian company, Smedvig) to build up its own portfolio of private equity investments and in 2001 he joined Smedvig Capital as a Managing Director and one of the senior executives responsible for investing, managing and reporting on a diversified A$350m private equity portfolio. Mark is married to an Australian and in 2006 moved to Australia with his family before taking up his position as a Partner at RMB. He is Chairman of Placard Pty Ltd and a Director of Interiorco, Ausreo and Instant Access.
