Biography
Dr. McDevitt is our Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, and joined ACADIA in November 2017. He comes to ACADIA after more than two decades at GlaxoSmithKline plc, where he was at the forefront of the R&D externalization strategy and involved in more than 70 global business development transactions spanning a variety of therapeutic areas, including neuroscience. Most recently, Dr. McDevitt was Vice President, Head of Business Development for R&D Extended Therapy Areas, Head of Worldwide Business Development Asia, and the head of the company’s R&D West Coast Satellite. Prior to that, he held a series of positions with increasing responsibility within Worldwide Business Development, GSK Ventures and Anti-Infectives Discovery. Dr. McDevitt attended Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, where he earned his Ph.D. and his undergraduate degree, both in Microbiology. He is an author of 70 scientific publications and published patents.
