Biography
José de Jesús Valdez has been CEO of Alpek since 1988. He joined the Company in 1976 and has held several senior management positions, including CEO of Petrocel, Indelpro and Polioles. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mexico’s National Chemical Industry Association (Asociación Nacional de la Industria Química – ANIQ), President of the Energy Commission for Mexico’s Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Confederación de Cámaras Industriales de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos -CONCAMIN), and President of Nuevo Leon’s Industry Chamber (Cámara de la Industria de Transformación de Nuevo León – CAINTRA).
Research Interest
He holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) as well as a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
