John C. Abbott

Biography

  Mr. John C. Abbott serves as the Head of Finance at Altos Hornos de Mexico, S.A.B de C.V. (AHMSA), parent company of MINOSA. Mr. Abbott served as the Chief Executive Officer of MeetMe, Inc. (alternate name: Quepasa.com Inc) from October 2007 to March 11, 2013. Mr. Abbott joined QuePasa following a career in investment banking and entrepreneurship. Since 2005, he was a Strategic and Financial Advisor to Altos Hornos de Mexico, S.A.B. de C.V., Mexico's and led integrated steel producer. In addition to his activities in Mexico, Mr. Abbott launched two ventures in Brazil, namely Click Filmes, a Sao Paulo-based hotel video on demand business and Industria de Entretenimento, one of Brazil's largest entertainment groups with rights to such brands as Pacha. From 1992 to 2005, Mr. Abbott held several senior positions within JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. He has over 15 years of experience in strategic advisory and entrepreneurship. Mr. Abbott spent 11 years in JP Morgan's Latin America Mergers & Acquisitions group. Mr. Abbott served as the Non-Executive Chairman of MeetMe, Inc. since March 11, 2013 until June 27, 2016 and previously served as its Executive Chairman from February 25, 2009 to March 11, 2013. Previously, he served as the Chairman of MeetMe, Inc. from October 25, 2007 to January 18, 2008. He served as the Chairman of Quepasa Corp. from October 2007 to January 24, 2008 and has been its Director since October 2007. He has been an Independent Director of Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. since June 2015. He served as a Director of MeetMe, Inc. since October 2007 until June 27, 2016. Mr. Abbott earned an AB in History from Stanford University in 1992 and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School in 1997.   Mr. John C.
