Jaime Ruiz Sacristan

Biography

Mr. Jaime Ruiz Sacristán is Co-Owner of Tenedora Jacaru, S.A. De C.V. Mr. Sacristán serves as Executive Director at BXM Holdings, Inc. He has a large experience of more than 35 years in the banking and financial sectors. He served as General Director of Grupo Financiero of BITAL at Grupo Financiero HSBC, S.A. de C.V. until March 2002. Mr. Sacristán served as the President of Association of Mexican Banks from April 2011 to April 2013. He worked at GF BITAL since its privatisation in 1992 and helped to navigate GF BITAL through Mexico's economic crisis in 1995. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Financiero Bital from 2001 to 2003. Mr. Sacristán held several senior management positions in Banco Mexicano Somex and Citibank Mexico. He has been the Chairman of Bolsa Mexicana de Valores, S.A.B. de C.V. since January 01, 2015 and also serves as Institutional Advisor. He also has been the Chairman of the Board at Mexican Stock Exchange since January 2015. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at CCV, Indeval, MexDer, SIF ICAP, Valmer and Bursatec. He served as the Chairman of The Board of Directors of Banco Ve por Más, S.A., Institución de Banca Múltiple, Grupo Financiero Ve por Más since 2003. He has been a Director at Elementia, S.A.B. de C.V. since 2007. He has been Director of Byline Bancorp, Inc. since June 2013 and also serves as its Director of Byline Bank. He has been a Director of Banco Popular Español, S.A. since September 28, 2016. Mr. Sacristán serves as a Director of Mexichem, S.A.B. de C.V. He was a Board Member of Controladora Comercial e Industrial. He served as a Director of Grupo Financiero of BITAL until March 2002. He served as a Director of Seguros Bital S A until March 2002. He served as a Director of Grupo Financiero HSBC, S.A. de C.V. until March 2002. Mr. Sacristán holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Universidad Anáhuac and an MBA from Northwestern University.
