Biography
John Di Bert is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Bombardier Inc. Prior to joining Bombardier in August 2015, Mr. Di Bert spent 14 years at Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC). He was first hired as Manager, Financial Accounting and Reporting, before being promoted to positions of increasing responsibility. In July 2002, he took on the role of Director, Finance for WSK PZL, a former state-owned aerospace manufacturer based in Poland which had just been acquired by UTC. He then served as P&WC’s Corporate Controller, where he elaborated a foreign currency hedging policy and program that integrated risk management, cash management, financial planning and financial accounting requirements. In October 2004, John Di Bert became Director, Finance, Customer Service and in 2007, he was appointed Vice President, Finance. Over a seven-year period, he designed, developed and implemented various company-wide initiatives that helped maintain sound financial performance while P&WC was launching critical strategic investments. In parallel, he contributed to building a healthy, well-funded pension plan as Chairman of the Pension Committee. In January 2014, he was appointed Vice President, Customer Service; a position he occupied until he was recruited by Bombardier. Earlier in his career, Mr. Di Bert worked at Rolls-Royce Canada as Manager, Financial Accounting and Reporting from 1999 to 2001 and at KPMG as Senior Auditor for major clients including manufacturing, retail and distribution companies from 1997 to 1999. In 2009, he was selected as one of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40†in recognition of his achievements in the private sector. He has also been an active leader in supporting Centraide/United Way campaigns as well as numerous other volunteer projects for not-for-profit organizations. John Di Bert holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Accountancy from Concordia University in Montréal (Canada). He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec.
