Biography

Louis G. Véronneau is Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions, Bombardier Inc. since June 2015. In this role, he oversees the company’s partnerships, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures on a global scale. Prior to joining Bombardier, Mr. Véronneau was Managing Director, Investment Banking at TD Securities (2007-2015). In this role, he advised Canadian companies in the infrastructure, real estate, power, natural resources and diversified industrial sectors on the full range of their corporate finance needs: from equity and debt financing to mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he spent over eight years at Abitibi-Consolidated, a multinational natural resources company, first as Vice President and General Counsel (1998-2001), and then as Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development (2001-2007). In these functions, he was responsible at various times for strategy, corporate development, market intelligence, investor relations, legal matters, real estate, public and governmental affairs. Prior to this, he practised corporate, commercial and securities law at Lavery, de Billy, a major Montréal law firm. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Montreal and a Master of Laws from the London School of Economics. He has been called to the Bar (Québec, 1993) and has been commissioned as an Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has also attended programs at Harvard Business School and The Hague Academy of International Law.
