Biography

Vincent J. Galifi was appointed Magna International Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in December 1997. As a key member of the executive management team, Galifi oversees Magna’s financial function and plays a crucial role in managing Magna’s overall global strategy. In addition to instilling financial discipline in the organization, Galifi has a key role for the company’s mergers, acquisitions and investments, which have contributed to the company’s global sales of more than US $36 billion. Galifi joined Magna International in 1989 as a Manager of Taxation. He subsequently held various positions including Director of Taxation, Director of Taxation & Insurance, Controller and Director of Insurance, Vice President & Controller, Vice President Finance, Executive Vice President Finance, Executive Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In addition to his responsibilities within the Finance department, Galifi serves on various Magna committees including the Executive Management Committee, the Disclosure Committee and the Policy & Procedures Committee, and he serves as an advisor to the Audit Committee and the Corporate Governance and Compensation Committee. Outside of the company, Galifi serves on the board of CCL Industries Inc., the largest label company in the world for markets including home & personal care, food & beverage, healthcare & specialty, automotive, electronics & consumer durables and retail & apparel. Prior to joining Magna, Galifi worked as an associate at the international accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, where he held various positions including Director of Taxation. During his time with Coopers & Lybrand he completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth Tax Course Parts I and II. These courses offer one of the most complete and comprehensive tax training programs in Canada. Galifi graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with high distinction, in 1982. He obtained a C.A. designation in 1984 and he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Galifi currently resides in Woodbridge, Ontario.
