Howard J. Margolis

Biography

Mr. Howard J. Margolis serves as the Managing Director and Principal at Mexico Retail Properties. He focuses on expanding the firm’s investment business and broaden the firm's investor base as well as building new types of asset platforms. Mr. Margolis served as the Managing Director of Real Assets at Morgan Creek Capital Management, LLC. Mr. Margolis joined Morgan Creek Capital Management in 2012 and was responsible for the real assets investment program. Prior to joining Morgan Creek, he served as the Director of Real Assets at Willett Advisors LLC, focusing on public securities and interests in private equity, real estate, and natural resources. His investment experience at Willet across the commodity spectrum included commodity futures and equities as a Principal in a variety of strategies and structures. Prior to Willett, Mr. Margolis served as the Managing Director at Black Creek Group and Senior Vice President of Investments at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. He served at GIC Real Estate, Inc. While at GIC, he was primarily responsible for the origination and structuring of joint ventures, fund investments, and corporate investment with both public and private entities. As Executive Director in UBS' Real Estate Investment Banking group, Mr. Margolis was responsible for client coverage as well as advisory, mergers, bond underwritings, CMBS, and credit and equity-linked transactions in which UBS acted as the Lead or Co-Lead Manager. Prior to joining UBS, he served as Director of Acquisitions for City Hotels USA and an Acquisition Associate in the Real Estate Finance Group for both Federal Realty Investment Trust and CitiCorp. N.A. He served as a Director of Real Assets at Quadrangle Asset Management. He holds a B.S. from Tulane University and an M.B.A. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
