Biography
Dr. Nuria Victoria Sánchez Puig is working as a Researcher in the Department of Biomacromolecules in National Autonomous University of Mexico, Mexico. she has completed her Postdoctoral fellow in Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB-MRC), Cambridge England, Ph.D. in Biophysic of Proteins. Centre for Protein Engineering (CPE-MRC), Cambridge, England, MSc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, School of Chemistry, UNAM and BSc. in Food Chemistry, School of Chemistry, UNAM. she honored with Member of the National Research System, Level 1, 2010. Royal Society Conference Grant 2007. Grant “Gates Cambridge Trust”. 2001-2004. Grant ORSAS (Overseas Research Students Award Scheme). 2001-2004.
Research Interest
Dr. Nuria Victoria Sánchez Puig focused on techniques of recombinant ADN, biochemistry, spectroscopic and calorimetric techniques are combined, Cancer, ribosomopathies and sialidosis. It is possible to understand the thermodynamic and structural bases that control these proteins interactions with their respective ligands and how mutations associated to the illness alter such interaction and take part in the pathological process, To understand the molecular bases that allow non-structural native proteins to interact with different ligands in a specific way, regardless the lack of tertiary structure, as well as their ability to acquire different conformations depending on the ligand they interact with. The study of this type of proteins is of great interest as they put into test the idea that the structure is a prerequisite of the function.
