Biography
Buchi Ramagopal is the Global Head of ScotiaMocatta, a global metals business which is part of Global Banking and Markets. ScotiaMocatta is the world’s oldest bullion trader, and recognized as a market-leader in the metals business, with operations in Toronto, New York, Mumbai, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Buchi first joined Scotiabank in 2010, and most recently, he was Treasurer of the International Banking Division of the bank. Buchi’s previous experience includes the roles in Risk, Treasury and ALM at The Hartford, Citibank and Freddie Mac. He holds a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Indiana University.
