Biography
In his role as MD and Co-Head of Global Investment Banking, Charles is responsible for the growth and strategic direction of Scotiabank’s investment banking and mergers and acquisitions operations globally. Charles is also a voting member of the Equity Liability and Mergers & Acquisitions Opinion Review Committees. He also sits on the Global Banking & Markets Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee. During his 18 year career at Scotiabank, Charles has acted as lead underwriter and M&A advisor on numerous transactions comprised of IPOs, public and private equity and debt financings, domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions with industry leading companies and private equity players. Charles graduated from HEC Montreal in 1994 and obtained his CPA designation in 1995. He completed his Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation in 2000. Charles was part of the TSX Listing Advisory Committee from 2006 to 2008. Charles is also a current member of the cabinet for the CHU Sainte Justine Foundation’s five-year $150 M fundraising campaign. He has also acted as Honorary President on several fundraising events in recent years.
