Biography
As Managing Director and Head, Global Investment Banking - Energy, David Potter is responsible for all of Scotiabank’s investment banking activities in the Oil & Gas sector globally. Over a career of more than 20 years with Scotiabank, David has held a number of investment banking and M&A roles in both Calgary and Toronto. David’s Canadian and international transaction experience in the Oil & Gas sector includes leading mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of public and private companies and assets, assessment of strategic alternatives and shareholder value maximization, takeover defense strategies and planning, valuations, fairness opinions as well as debt and equity financing in the public and private capital markets. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics) from Laval University and a Masters degree in Business Administration from London Business School.
