Biography
Dieter Jentsch is Group Head, Global Banking and Markets. In this role, Dieter is responsible for Scotiabank’s corporate and investment banking, capital markets and transaction banking businesses worldwide.Dieter has been with Scotiabank since 1983, and has held a number of progressively more senior positions including Senior Vice President, Canadian Commercial Banking; Regional Senior Vice President, Domestic Branch Banking, Toronto Region; Managing Director & Head, Scotia Private Client Group, Wealth Management; Executive Vice President, Commercial Banking, Canada, and Executive Vice President, Latin America. Prior to his current role, he was Group Head of International Banking. Dieter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, a Master of Business Administration degree, and a diploma from the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD (European Institute of Business). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. Dieter is also a member of the board of directors of the Jim Pattison Group. He is married and has four sons.
