Biography
Jake Lawrence is the Head of U.S. Global Banking and Markets. Prior to this role Jake was Senior Vice President, Deputy Treasurer, responsible for Scotiabank's wholesale funding activities, including securitization and regulatory capital, as well as the Bank’s liquidity management. From 2015 to 2017, Jake served as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations, responsible for managing Scotiabank's relationships with institutional investors, sell-side analysts and rating agencies. He also oversaw much of the Bank's disclosure of financial information and strategy to the investment community. At the same time, Jake was responsible for the coordination of the office of Scotiabank’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and related communication activities. Jake joined the Bank in 2002, in the Finance department, where he held progressively senior roles before joining Group Treasury in 2007. In 2015, Jake represented Scotiabank at The Institute of International Finance (IIF) Future Leaders program. Jake earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Lakehead University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wilfrid Laurier School of Business & Economics.
