Amy Buesing

Biography

Buesing received a BS in Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico in 1982 and a MBA from University of Phoenix in 1996. She completed an ASHP post graduate institutional pharmacy residency at University of Texas Medical Branch Hospital (Galveston) in 1983. She is a hospital pharmacist with 30 years of experience and the Director of the UNM/NMSU Cooperative Pharmacy Program. She serves as Treasurer of the Mesilla Valley Hospice Board and as Vice Chair of the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. She is also the Co-Chair of Lifepoint Health’s Patient and Family Advisory Board.

Research Interest

  During her career, Buesing has worked with health care colleagues across professional disciplines on initiatives to promote patient medication education, patient engagement and medication safety in the hospital setting. In addition, Buesing advises and mentors pre-pharmacy students at NMSU and serves as Co-Faculty Advisor for the NMSU Pre-Pharmacy Society.
