Biography
McConville was educated in the United Kingdom. He received a BS in applied Chemistry from the University of Coventry, England, in 1994 and a PhD in pharmaceutics from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2002. McConville also serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Bonn, Germany, where he teaches and jointly supervises in the graduate program.
Research Interest
McConville’s research focuses on overcoming hurdles associated with targeting the delivery of therapeutic agents. His research interests include bioadhesive transmucosal drug delivery systems, pulmonary targeting for local and/or systemic therapy of anticancer drugs as well as anti-infective agents, and chronopharmaceutical drug delivery platforms for oral drug administration.
