Biography
Felton received both her bachelor of science in pharmacy (1986) and her PhD in pharmaceutics (1997) from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining the UNM pharmacy faculty, she worked as a retail pharmacist in Texas. She has a joint appointment as a formulation specialist/research associate at the Department of Veterans Affairs Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Coordinating Center.
Research Interest
Felton is an internationally recognized expert in modified release drug delivery and polymeric film coating technology. She has written more than 50 scientific papers and book chapters and is a named inventor on several patents and invention disclosures. Her research focuses on polymeric film coating and modified release drug delivery systems as well as formulation development, blinding and GMP manufacturing of solid dosage forms for use in clinical trials.
