Biography
Mercier received a BS in pharmacy from Laval University in Quebec, Canada, in 1993 and a PharmD from Wayne State University in Michigan in 1995. She completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Wayne State University in 1997. Mercier has been practicing at UNMH in the inpatient Infectious Diseases services since 1997 and she is also involved as a pharmacist clinician at UNM Truman Health Services for the last 15 years. Mercier has trained 18 post-graduate residents and fellows.
Research Interest
Mercier’s primary research interests include studying the role of platelets in the pathogenesis of endocarditis and the impact of drugs on Staphylococci virulence factors. She is also involved in several research proposals focusing on HIV adherence and treatment, antimicrobial stewardship and immunization.
